SANTA FE FILM FESTIVAL

The short film ALMA’S POND can be seen at this year’s virtual Santa Fe Film Festival.

The Santa Fe Film Festival celebrates all facets of cinematic arts – in New Mexico, regionally and globally. The annual event honors everyone working both on and off screen to bring the best of film creation, production and showings to the public and focuses on bringing together distinguished industry specialists and all movie lovers through accessible screenings, panels, workshops and parties!

But this year the entire event will be online from Feb 17 - 21. You can get an ALL ACCESS PASS through XERB for $35 or buy tickets for the Chicks and Flicks time block (a collection of shorts with the main characters are female) featuring ALMA’S POND for $3.99.

Synopsis:

Margaret is a frustrated twelve-year-old who’s run away to her Aunt Alma’s mountain cabin to escape her parents’ constant arguing. When she arrives, her caring aunt helps Margaret realize that things are not always what they seem. Together the two unravel the mystery behind an occurrence that haunts their past and is as heartbreaking to Alma as it is to Margaret. Based on best-selling author Bruce Coville’s popular YA short story, The Thing in Auntie Alma’s Pond.

PERFECT STRANGERS

Brandon Moore recently scored a short film titled PERFECT STRANGERS, marking his third collaboration with writer/director Ana Barredo.

PERFECT STRANGERS is about two people meeting during the COVID quarantine and filmed entirely during lockdown.

In December the short was an official selection of the Alternative Film Festival (ALTFF) and won a Best Writer - North America (Short Category) award for Barredo.

MOORE ALIENS IN FSM

The online magazine dedicated only to the music of film and soundtracks, Film Score Monthly Online, interviewed Brandon for its August 2020 issue. He once again chatted with Kristen Romanelli for the article titled, Moore Aliens, where they discussed the differences and challenges of scoring a sequel.

Just as Jessica is attempting to accept her quarantined lifestyle as the new normal, things start to unravel. Starring Tracy Clifton and Directed by Michael Benni Pierce.

INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL WINNER

THE YEAR I DID NOTHING wins Best Long Narrative of Philippine Focus at the Cebu International Film Festival of the Philippines.

The festival took place over the weekend and featured movies, shorts, and documentaries from all over the globe. CEBU.IFF also aims revive the Visayan film industry and further support the development of Philippine produced films that have a global reach.

This was THE YEAR I DID NOTHING’s international premiere.

TWIFF

Dates have been announced for The World’s International Film Festival (TWIFF) in San Francisco where audiences get another chance to see THE YEAR I DID NOTHING.

The World’s Independent Film Festival (TWIFF) is dedicated to recognizing filmmakers from around the world and all walks of life, as well as celebrating films that raise awareness to global and local issues.

Festival dates are September 28-29 and all screenings take place at the New People Cinema on Post Street. Get all the festival info and tickets at TWIFF 2019’s official website.
